* Audrey Hepburn. Originally just a collection of her quotes, I have added a lot of my thoughts in this post. I hope you like it! The lines in black are new additions, the blue ones are how this post was published initially.
Today is the day a beautiful human being was born, the woman we all know and respect – Audrey Hepburn. I have always adored her and can never get enough of her in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sabrina and other movies. This post is my way of spreading her word. She was the perfect amalgamation of Beauty and Brain!
I am amazed at her wisdom even in her youth. She was a humble, intelligent and talented woman who truly embodied the real meaning of beauty.
Her quotes seem so profound and simple it makes me wonder why aren’t other role models like her in the movie industry anymore. She was one of a kind, a magnificent soul with a beautiful heart.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a Woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she knows.
Some thing that we should never have forgotten, this quote makes ponder about my idea of beauty. So much importance is given to outer presence that we have little time to look inwards!
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.
This might be one of her most famous quote and I love the depth of life these lines dig into. We are so bothered about getting wrinkles and crow’s feet that we do not enjoy the confidence and strength life gives us as we learn and grow with our years.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
If only we kept this in mind, the materialistic wave that has hit the world would calm down and the mounting credit card debts would die a slow death. And we’d see people love each other more than their possessions.
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
This quote gives me goosebumps. A healthy sense of self-worth and self-respect only can make anyone follow this completely. A lot of us are much more shallow than we’d like to admit even to ourselves.
Living is like tearing through a museum. Not until later do you really start absorbing what you saw, thinking about it, looking it up in a book, and remembering – because you can’t take it in all at once.
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’
I would admit, I didn’t really know that these were her words until I started searching for her quotes. I was amazed after this discovery. I had heard it so many times and i expected it to come out of someone from the likes of Albert Einstein. She is no less than him either. It’s just that I’m a bit amused by this discovery. Perceptions and assumptions can be so misleading!
Saving the best for last:
I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.
Reading this made me sad. Sad that she’s no more and that there are not many like her. Sad that I myself find it hard to believe in my beauty. Sad because I judge myself and look at myself by the standards of a ‘society’. Sad because so many of us want to believe in pink but don’t!
