Photo A Day Experiment (PADE) Day 7 – Light

Photo A Day Experiment, Day 7 : Theme Light

Photo A Day Experiment (PADE) has successfully completed a week and I couldn’t have been more proud. We have done the themes – AloneBooksCandleDistance, Fresh, Layer and now it is time for LIGHT.

When I zeroed in on this theme for PADE (my 16 in addition to Sfurti’s 16), I had a completely different idea about what I could do with this topic. It would have been more on the lines of my entry to Illumination for WordPress. But doing something I have already done was no fun. Besides I planned to walk out of my comfort zone for PADE.

So it was time to leave behind my usual inspirational message of finding light within us or somewhere else but to literally focus on light!

It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. ~ Aristotle

But I couldn’t help myself from posting a quote that I L-O-V-E on Light (eek!).

Sometimes it pays to be patient!

Photography is a lot about patience – to find a perfect angle, suitable light and get subject in focus. When I selected a spot for this photo, I knew I wanted sun (light) to be visible indirectly. It took me around 10 minutes to find my angle and get the sun at the right spot, exactly in the middle of the leaf.

Photo Perspective: This photo was taken in manual mode from my Nikon D7100 DSLR camera. No special setting of Aperture and Shutter speed, just the usual daytime Landscape setting. And while editing, I just increased the color temperature a bit!

Did I find my light? I think so. What do you think about this photo? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I hope you liked my take on PADE Theme – Light. You can also check out all things PADE on my PADE page. Gear up to share your take on this theme and check out other entries to support other PADE participants.

  1. So you are full on experimenting….it’s Great! Really! And, also I can see how religiously you follow 1/3rd :) On ‘Rules’ theme, I suggest you break that 1/3rd rule…what say?
For the picture I really like it…loved the focus, green-sunny yellow colors and the focus :) Awesome!

I’m actually having a lot of fun doing PADE stuff. Thanks for your lovely comments throughout PADE.
I learnt 1/3rd rule recently and I do think it brings out an element of interest even in the most boring images! Don;t follow it religiously while taking pictures but do edit photos with it on my mind sometimes!
I’m having tough time deciding for “rules”, don’t know what I was thinking selecting that theme :( I might just take your advice ;)

  2. Love the photograph Ritu!! I am amazed how you came up with this??

  3. Abhishek says:

as usual great write up and nice capture!

  4. Sini Rachel says:

Great image. And great job at creating PADE. I guess it wud be better if the participants posted in the Linky tool rather in comments.

    • Ritu says:

Thank you Sini and I agree with you on the links left in linky tool. I use inlinkz tool but Sfurti faced some major issues on her blog because of the inlinkz code, so she had to take it down.
And I cannot say every PADE participant feels the same way because a lot of people leave their links in comments of Sfurti’s blog only but not in mine, even though they know we are both hosting it – so may be they prefer comments.

      • Sini Rachel says:

Yes Ritu. That includes me as well. But what I have noticed is that the Linky takes u directly to the post and the comments will take u to the home page of the blog.
