The latest Weekly Photo Challenge had me thinking about the Grand things I have seen in life and the opportunities of capturing those moments that I have missed because of various reasons. But one of the most beautiful things that I have seen in my life is the Jungmun Daepo Colmnar Jointed Lava rocks in Jeju and lucky for me that we had a camera with us this time!
These are also called Pillar rocks and this is a very famous tourist spot in Jeju. And I agree this is a must see for people visiting Jeju. The sea is a beautiful cobalt blue against the black basalt rocks.
The pillar rocks got created when hot lava fell from the land directly into the sea and set in pillar form due to the sudden drop in temperature (I hope I explained this well).
When the waves hit the rocks, it looks even more pristine and I also loved looking at the waves when the water traveled down from the rocks. It looked like the water was walking downstairs from these rocks.
Jeju has something to offer to everyone – water sports, sandy beaches, rocky beaches, lava rocks, caves, waterfalls, islets, hiking trails, crater, carter lake, etc. It’s a PARADISE! And one of the most unique things I have seen in life are these columnar jointed lava rocks that look like beautiful pillars that someone carved by hands. Nature can be so precise and exact!
I hope you enjoyed my take on the Weekly Photo Challenge. Visit this page for my entries to the previous photo challenges.
