I love challenges and Bokeh was one that I had been wanting to take from the day I started taking photography seriously. It was only a matter of time that I’d start enjoying night photography and start playing with the light.
Bokeh is one the most beautiful effects I have come across in photography till now. It also reminds me about the nature of life. When we are happy, nothing seems clearer and brighter than the subject of our attention; when we are sad, nothing seems scarier and bigger than our problems standing in front of us; everything else just a blur. Luckily Bokeh is a colorful and beautiful blur!
I know that Bokeh can be created artificially but I wanted to achieve Bokeh effect using my cameras. I attempted both at day and night. I was not really happy with the results of the day photo (so deleted it from this post) but I like the one at night because of the dim colored bubbles!
Photo perspective: Taken with my DSLR Nikon D7100. The settings for Bokeh were the same as explained in my Bokeh – The Effect Every Photographer Loves post. This shot in my opinion is not easy to take with a digital camera but then I haven’t tried so I cannot comment on it. Do you recognize the model?
I placed the doll (asked my husband to hold it, ahem!) so that I could capture the road and its reflection in my window’s glass for symmetry. What can I say, you gotta risk your life for a good photo 😀 It is a life-size window and I was standing on the sofa; but no one got hurt and I believe I got a good photo which makes it all worth it. Do you agree?
I’d love to see how you interpret “Bokeh”! Check out my PADE page for more PADE fun. Visit the entries of other PADE participants and support them!
