I have been getting some feedback on my posts and I now understand how different every single person sees any form of art. It can be seen in each theme bringing so many different interpretations from different people.
A photo can be simple, elegant, boring, special, unique or lackluster depending upon the set of eyes seeing it. But then again, we can only control our minds and present our own take on a subject hoping for others to see it the way we want it to be seen.
For play, I wanted to go out and take pictures of toddlers playing in the swimming pool near my home. But sadly the pool was being cleaned today so I had to think of something else. It didn’t take long for me to realize what I wanted to share but going from happy children to a sad unfulfilled wish was a bit overwhelming.
When I was a child I did not see too many Disney princess movies or even merchandise that every little girl gets these days. When I see those things in department stores I look at them and I admire them for their cuteness and then move on to the what a grown up ‘should’ be admiring – shoes, accessories, clothes…only one thing makes me stop and yearn to go back in time and play – Barbie. I guess there’s a little girl inside me till now who wants to get her first Barbie!
Over the years, the thought of owning a Barbie have left me – I’m tempted no more. But my practicality does not stop me from admiring a friend I’d always wanted to play with!
