I was in South Korea when I came across this book. It was my first visit to Seoul, I ended up going thrice, and I had been searching for English bookstores there. Just before leaving Korea, I came across a store – What The Book – in Itaewon. I went in and was relieved to find aisles and aisles of used and new English books. I picked up “The Happiness project” just because the title sounded really good to me. After reading a short description at the book, I knew I had to get it. And I never regretted it!
The Happiness Project is a book by the author Gretchen Rubin in which she explores what happiness means. She had an epiphany on a bus ride where the thought – The days are long, but the years are short – occurred to her. She felt that she was not focusing enough on important things in life. So she decided to start a year long Happiness Project. This book is all about this experiment.
Book: The Happiness Project
Author: Gretchen Rubin

I loved how honest the author was about her attitude in life at all times – before the project, during the project and afterwards. I also loved how realistic and relate-able her approach was towards happiness. Of course happiness can mean different things to different people but I loved applying some of her ideas to improve my own happiness levels in life.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve happiness in their lives and also as a feel good factor!
