When the book “The Secret” came into my life, I was at low point in my life. I had not been into Inspirational books as much and was into novels – the stories intrigued me and I had no intention of learning life’s lessons from the books. At the time, I thought, they were meant for entertainment and the self-help ones for losers (I apologize for my ignorant judgement of the past).
I was so wrong.
I have already written extensively about this point in my life so I will jump into the fact that I picked up this book after recommendation from one of my favorite Youtuber at the time. I was so in need of a ray of hope that I was willing to do anything – thankfully buying the book did it for me.
The Secret introduced me to the concept of the “Law of Attraction”. I had read about the law in my science books but had never realized how it existed in everything around us. I tried some techniques and it worked for me. It gave me hope, inspiration and also the confidence to move forward in life. I soon discovered the world of non-fiction books and realized that The Secret only touched the tip of the iceberg. My love affair with non-fiction has been strong ever since.
So even though I moved past The Secret, I regarded it as the book that brought me the first ray of hope. Conseuqently, I waited for the more books in this series by Rhonda Byrne. First came The Power, then The Magic and then the lastest addition to this series – The Hero.
While I loved The Power, The Magic did not capture my attention as much. And when I finally grabbed The Hero, I was disappointed.
I had heard that this book featured the rags to riches stories of some successful people I knew about but when I grabbed it, the presentation of the information did not impress me. I had to force myself to finish this book. And even though I love reading new thought books, I felt that this book added little to what has already been said in the first 3 books by the author.
Book: The Hero
Author: Rhonda Byrne
Price: 699 INR
Books by Rhonda Byrne:
- The Secret
- The Power
- The Magic
- The Hero
I picked up this book because I believed that it would have something important to say. Even the back of the book says that this book will remind us of what we are here (Planet Earth) for and the journey we will need to take. I know the answers to some questions I have been asking in life but this book did nothing to help me reach there!
I would not recommend this book, especially to someone just getting started with the New Thought books. The Secret and The Power are better choices from the author Rhonda Byrne.
