I picked up “Wedding Night” by Sophie Kinsella a few weeks ago from a Crossword store near me. I have read and loved the Shopaholic series (the last book was not as good though). I have also enjoyed reading the author’s stand-alone books like Can You Keep a Secret, Remember Me, The Undomestic Goddess, Twenties Girl etc. so I decided to pick the latest stand-alone book from her. The title and storyline seemed intriguing.
Wedding night is a story about two sisters, Lottie and Fliss, who are dealing with love, career and their romantic fantasies. Lottie has found the love of her life and is going to marry him soon but Fliss seems to think it is not a good idea.
And then there is the wedding night that Fliss needs to stop. But during all this she has to deal with her own divorce, career and a guy she is falling for!
I loved the fast-paced writing style and the light-hearted tone through out the book. I pick up Chicklit books only when I am in a mood for some breezy fun reads so I am glad I chose this one.
The characters are etched nicely and have been given grey shades so there is a lot of fun experiencing the unpredictable twists and turns which eventually lead to the inevitable happy ending.
