“Grass is always greener on the other side.”
We’ve heard of it a million times and yet most of us yearn to skip our current situation and jump into a reality in the future that seems more appealing; a place where everything will be alright. And it is a never-ending quest. Because whatever the present is, we never focus on it and it never feels good enough.
I, recently, took a break from everything else to work on myself about kicking this habit of ‘dreaming about the future and skipping living in the present.’ I think it is a continuous process but I’ve got a kick-start.
Anyhow. This week I saw the Weekly Photo Challenge – Escape and immediately decided to share a photo I clicked on a recent trip to Nami Island.
When we were planning to go to Nami Island, I found that we could reach there via a zip-wire. I got so excited about it and insisted that we go to the island ziplining! I kept watching videos on YouTube and imagining what it would be like to experience that hanging-in-the-air feeling.
The day arrived and I finally did it. And honestly, it was good but not as ground-breaking as I had imagined. So basically I lived the 9 days before travelling in a daze. Now I know it was an escape from the things I didn’t want to face when I started my website.
I was overwhelmed by the amount of work I was supposed to do (building from scratch again and leaving a well-set WordPress blog). But now I know better and I am willing to live in the present moment and fight my battles!
