Welcome to the final post of the April A to Z Blogging Challenge. This is the second month-long blogging event that I have completed successfully but what makes this more special is that this time I participated with both of my blogs. And I am so proud to admit that I survived the challenge on both fronts. Hurray!
To write the Z post, I had a different subject in mind but then I scratched that to share a tiny little story about my (not technically) first blog.
Zenith: It is the point in the sky or celestial sphere directly above an observer.
I have mentioned a few times that I first started my blog in 2009. It was a blog hosted on my employer’s website server. I never posted anything on it. Then I started an actual “Blogger” blog in 2010. I called it My Assorted Platter. Without actually knowing it at the time, I was planning to run a lifestyle blog. I posted 3-4 times over the course of 2 weeks and never shared it with anyone. I was so embarrassed.
Finally on New Year’s Eve (2010), I created another Blogger blog names “Aiming for Zenith”. I wanted to keep it as a lifestyle blog but focus more on inspiration, self-improvement and life experiences. I shared it with my friends and surely enough a handful of them visited my blog and encouraged me to continue blogging.
I blogged on and off for a year until the end of 2011 and then made it private because from mid of 2011 to 2012 I was walking in a different direction in life and did not intend on making a career out my blog. Life moved at its own pace in its own direction and I ended up in South Korea. It took me another few months of struggle before I realized that I could pursue blogging as a career rather than running around doing things I did not want to do.
“Aiming for Zenith” remained private until getting deleted later and then I created this blog, this time on WordPress, in December 2012! The name was Beyond Beauty Tips (don’t ask me the reason), I registered my own domain a few months later to finally name it “Things To Rave About“.Zenith company logo (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
I feel like Aiming for Zenith was a stepping stone for my blogging career. The mistakes, the lessons and the little successes I had with “Aiming for Zenith” gave me the confidence to approach blogging as a professional. Anyhoo.
And in an ever evolving blogosphere, I doubt I will ever reach my Zenith but I am sure I will get higher and higher with each step. I will always keep Aiming for Zenith and what it represented to me close to my heart and I hope I will keep the honesty, enthusiasm and sincerity I had with Aiming for Zenith to stay no matter how far I go as a blogger (and generally in life)!
